Internally, the volume is equally impressive; the text block and all twenty-four colour plates are exceptionally bright and clean, free from the foxing that often blights volumes of this era. The top edge gilt retains its lustre, whilst the untrimmed, rough-cut fore and bottom edges display only minor, age-appropriate toning.
