Condition Report: Very Good+. This copy remains tightly bound and square, with the striking quarter black leather and tan cloth boards exceptionally clean. The gilt lettering to the spine and the central front board vignette remain remarkably bright and unrubbed. The top edge gilt retains a sharp lustre. The interior text block is crisp, remarkably clean, and notably lacks the pervasive foxing occasionally found in this edition. The volume is housed in a clear protective wrapper, which has preserved the boards beautifully, showing only the faintest handling wear beneath. Overall, a highly attractive and well-preserved example.

Catalogue Note: This volume represents a scarce limited edition run strictly confined to 200 copies. Produced by the highly regarded Lion and Unicorn Press at the Royal College of Art, it features an elegant quarter leather binding with a gilt-stamped front panel vignette.

The text provides a high-quality facsimile reproduction of the original 1550 edition, complemented by an English translation by Evelyn Shuckburgh and a scholarly introduction by the acclaimed wood-engraver and designer Reynolds Stone.
