Condition Report: Near Fine. The book is tightly bound in the publisher's original black textured boards, which remain clean, bright, and free from notable shelf-wear. The corners are sharp and unbumped, while the spine ends remain crisp. The silver gilt tooling to the spine ('BEHIND THE CHALET SCHOOL H. M. McCLELLAND A.P.') is bright, complete, and entirely unoxidised. Internally, the book is in excellent condition; the binding is firm, the hinges are perfectly sound, and the text block is square. The pages are bright, clean, and completely free from foxing, toning, or distracting previous ownership markings. An exceptionally sharp, well-preserved copy, lacking the dust jacket.
