Condition
Very Good: Original card binding shows mild general wear, with slight bumping to corners and edges. Spine remains bright and intact. A tape mark is present to the rear cover, with a few faint marks elsewhere across the panels. Now protected in a plastic sleeve. Binding tight and square. Internally, some pages show minor creasing to the upper corners, but are otherwise clean and bright. Black-and-white photographs remain in excellent condition. A well-preserved and highly presentable copy.
Description
First edition, issued in New Guinea in 1942, and signed by the author. Wartime publications of this nature, particularly those produced in active service conditions, were typically printed in small numbers and are now exceptionally scarce. Signed examples are seldom encountered on the market. A highly desirable copy for collectors of World War II ephemera and author-associated material.
Fighter Squadron Doctor offers a firsthand account of medical service within an active Royal Australian Air Force squadron during World War II. Drawing on direct experience, the work provides insight into the challenges of frontline conditions, aviation medicine, and daily life in a combat environment. Illustrated with contemporary photographs, it presents a vivid and immediate record of wartime service.
