Condition Report: Very Good in a Near Fine dust jacket. The binding is tightly bound and square, presenting sharp corners and bright red cloth boards with unoxidised silver lettering to the spine. The text block exhibits some moderate foxing to the top and fore-edges, though this only occasionally intrudes upon the extreme margins of the otherwise clean and bright pages. The unclipped dust jacket (£3.95 net) is in excellent condition, retaining vivid colours without fading, showing only trivial rubbing to the spine ends and extreme corners. It is now protected in a removable mylar sleeve.

Catalogue Note: This is a first edition, first impression of the fifth instalment in George MacDonald Fraser's acclaimed Flashman series. The copyright page confirms the publication date by Barrie & Jenkins Limited, with no indication of subsequent printings, and the original dust jacket retains the correct £3.95 net price on the front flap.
