Condition Report: Near Fine. The binding remains notably firm, with the quarter-black paper and grey marbled boards showing only the most trivial hints of edge-wear. The striking linocut inset to the front board is bright and completely unblemished. Internally, the text block is securely bound with pleasing deckled fore-edges; the pages remain crisp, vibrant, and entirely free of foxing or extraneous marks, perfectly preserving the sharp contrast of the letterpress text and the original linocuts.

Catalogue Note: First edition. This volume represents the inaugural publication of Cacafuego Press, an acclaimed Scottish imprint co-founded by the author and the illustrator. It is one of 300 standard copies from a total limited run of 350. The text is beautifully complemented by Hugh Bryden's original, striking black-and-white linocuts, printed directly from the blocks.

Notably, this copy bears the signatures of both the poet, Tom Pow, and the artist, Hugh Bryden. Due to its limited print run, regional origins, and dual signatures, this particular iteration is decidedly scarce on the open market, making it an excellent addition when cataloguing modern first editions and contemporary poetry collections.
