Condition Report: Very Good. The quarter black cloth binding remains tight and square, exhibiting only minor shelf-wear at the spine head and tail. The printed paper spine label is fully intact with all text legible, showing slight age-toning and faint rubbing to its top edge. The distinctive faux-snakeskin patterned paper boards present handsomely, though they bear a small chip to the paper at the upper front hinge and mild rubbing along the extremities and corners. Internally, the text block is sound; the pages remain crisp with typical, even age-toning to the edges and a minor, localised spot of foxing to the upper margin of the title page.

Catalogue Note: First edition, first printing. Issued as part of the short-lived but highly regarded 'Mandrake Booklets' series by The Mandrake Press, founded by Edward Goldston and P.R. Stephensen.
