Condition Report: Poor. The book is bound in the publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles and the MCC monogram to the upper board. The binding remains largely square and structurally secure, with the gilt tooling retaining its brightness. However, the volume has suffered severe and visually intrusive moisture damage. A substantial, dark, crusty dampstain dominates the upper fore-edge of the front board, causing noticeable discolouration and hardening of the cloth. This heavy staining bleeds through into the interior margins and upper corners of the preliminary leaves, prominently affecting the title page. A further minor trace of damp is present at the head of the spine and the rear board. Offered as a compromised reading or placeholder copy.
