Condition Report: Good. The dark blue cloth binding remains generally square and robust, though it exhibits noticeable shelf-rubbing and fraying to the tail of the spine and adjacent lower corners, exposing minor fibrous wear. Internally, the text block is pleasingly crisp; the fore and lower edges remain clean, while the top edge shows faint, characteristic dust toning. The original, unclipped dust jacket is present but displays evident faults, most notably irregular patches of surface paper loss and lamination peeling along the lower margins of the front, spine, and rear panels, alongside typical rubbing to the extremities. Despite these exterior flaws, the volume stands as a perfectly readable, internally tight copy.

Catalogue Note: This is the true first edition, first printing of H. W. Tilman's account, retaining its original dust jacket designed by Yvonne Skargon and priced at '30s / [£1.50] NET' on the front flap.
