Condition Report: Very Good. The volume is presented in a handsome, early full calf binding that has been sympathetically and professionally rebacked. The original boards exhibit an authentic antiquarian patina, displaying expected age-related rubbing and light wear to the extremities. The newer leather spine is robust and tightly bound, expertly blind-ruled with raised bands and a gilt-lettered title block that integrates seamlessly with the original boards. Internally, the text block is sound and securely held. The leaves show typical age-toning and occasional light spotting commensurate with the era. A few pages display small, historic marginal notes in ink, and the engraved plate of Michael Servetus features a neat, early paper repair to the lower fore-edge margin that does not impinge upon the portrait itself. The binding remains remarkably tight, preserving a highly attractive and durable example of this seventeenth-century work.

Catalogue Note: This volume represents the Fourth Edition, "Enlarged and Perfected," of Alexander Ross’s comprehensive survey of global religions, Pansebeia. As was standard practice for the period, it is bound together with the Third Edition of Apocalypsis: or, the Revelation of certain notorious Advancers of Heresie (1671), translated by John Davies of Kidwelly.

A significant feature of this composite volume is its retention of the striking copper-plate engravings. The work boasts the frontispiece portrait of Alexander Ross, alongside the complete suite of seventeen engraved effigies of notorious heretics within the Apocalypsis section. Notably, this includes the portrait of Bernard Knipperdoling, which is occasionally found absent from the publisher's printed plate list. Copies retaining the full complement of these illustrations are increasingly scarce on the open market, as they were frequently excised by print collectors over the intervening centuries.
