Condition Report: Very Good. The publisher’s original green cloth binding remains structurally sound and secure, presenting nicely despite generalised wear to the extremities. There is light rubbing along the board edges, spine head, and foot, alongside gentle creasing to the corner tips. The spine and front board remain notably bright, retaining sharp and clearly defined gilt decorative elements depicting a landscape scene and prominent titling. The boards display light surface marks and minor scratches consistent with handling, though the black blind-stamped borders remain distinct. Internally, the binding is slightly shaken but holds firm. The front pastedown map pocket is fully intact. The contents display typical signs of handling, with age-related toning and scattered foxing throughout, particularly visible on the fold-out maps. The pages otherwise remain clean and legible, with all tipped-in and pocketed maps, including the intricate panoramic sketches, present and complete. Overall, a remarkably well-preserved example.
