Condition Report: Fine. The sage-green cloth binding remains notably taut and square, entirely free from fading or shelf-wear, with the gilt titling and the intricate chequered diamond pattern running down the spine presenting exceptionally bright and unoxidised. The pictorial colour onlay to the front board is pristine, bearing no scratches or rubbing. Internally, the pages are beautifully bright and clean, free from any foxing, thumbing, or handling marks, with the hinges completely sound and the text block edges sharp. A superb, remarkably fresh copy.

Catalogue Note: First included in the modern Everyman's Library Children's Classics series in 1995, this beautifully produced volume is a quintessential example of the publisher’s commitment to high-quality book design. The edition features David Campbell’s elegant typography and is bound with the series' characteristic gilt-tooled spine and pictorial onlay.
