Condition Report: Very Good. The original red cloth boards remain remarkably bright and clean, with the gilt tooling to the spine entirely unoxidized and striking. The binding is firm, tight, and square, exhibiting no significant shelf-wear, leaning, or bumping to the extremities. Internally, the text block is bright, crisp, and largely free from heavy age-toning or foxing, ensuring an excellent reading experience. The original dust jacket retains strong visual appeal but shows moderate edge-wear, light rubbing, and a few minor closed tears and shallow creases along the upper margins and spine ends, now fully protected in a removable archival sleeve.

Catalogue Note: A genuine first edition of this mid-century work. Notably departing from Saville's highly popular adventure stories, this narrative is enhanced by evocative monochrome illustrations throughout.
