Condition Report: Very Good. The dark blue cloth boards remain tight and structurally sound, with the silver spine lettering presenting brightly and free of oxidation, though the corners and spine ends display gentle bumping and shelf-wear. As an ex-library copy, the book bears institutional stamps: "Wigan Mobile Branch Library" to the base of the title page, alongside a withdrawn stamp and inked numerals to the copyright page, as well as remnants of adhesive and offset toning to the front free endpaper. The page block edges exhibit moderate spotting and dust-toning, and a faint erased smudge is present near the center of the title page. However, the internal text block is otherwise remarkably clean, tightly bound, and free of tearing or major blemishes. The original, unclipped dust jacket (retaining the 21s. net price) presents well with vibrant colours to the front panel, though it shows some rubbing, light edge-creasing, minor chipping to the spine extremities, and a vertical indentation line running down the rear panel.
