Condition Report: Very Good. The publisher's original pictorial paper-covered boards remain notably bright beneath a protective Mylar sleeve. There is moderate wear to the extremities, including some paper rubbing and slight splitting along the outer joints and spine ends, as is typical for this fragile binding style. The corners are gently bumped. The binding itself remains structurally sound and tight. Internally, the text block is pleasingly clean, with only minor age-toning confined predominantly to the page margins. Most crucially, the seven self-erecting models, often found heavily damaged or entirely detached in copies of this vintage, have survived in remarkably good, functional order, making this a highly commendable surviving example.

Catalogue Note: This is the true first edition of The Daily Express Children's Annual No. 1, a landmark publication in the history of paper engineering. Released in 1929, it is widely acknowledged by historians as the first modern pop-up book, introducing what editor S.
