Condition Report: Near Fine. The book is solidly bound in brown cloth boards, which remain notably clean and square with sharp corners, exhibiting virtually no shelf-wear. The striking gilt ouroboros illustration and lettering on the front board and spine remain exceptionally bright and unoxidised. The book is housed in its original clear protective wrapper, which is intact and displays only minor surface rubbing. Internally, the binding is tight and secure. The pages are crisp, bright, and completely free of foxing, toning, or any distracting marks. A highly attractive, well-preserved copy.

Catalogue Note: This is the first edition, strictly limited to 350 copies, of which 330 were made available for sale. This specific copy is hand-numbered 25. Published posthumously in 1976 by Bran's Head Books (Watkins having passed away in 1967), the copyright is held by his widow, Gwen Watkins.
