Internally, the text block is bright and sound, displaying only moderate, age-appropriate foxing and toning that primarily affects the page edges and preliminary leaves rather than the core text. The original, unclipped dust jacket (priced 7s. 6d. net) has performed its protective duty admirably; while it exhibits typical signs of mid-century wear, including overall toning, localised foxing to the rear panel and inner flaps, and some minor chipping and small closed tears to the extremities, it remains largely complete and visually attractive.
