Condition Report Good. The original quarter red cloth over pictorial paper boards is entirely intact but displays typical wear typical with a post-war children's annual. The boards show moderate surface scuffing and small indentations to the front panel, though the colours of the whimsical cover art remain remarkably bright and striking. There is noticeable rubbing along the board edges, with the underlying cardboard exposed at the corners and along the lower edge. The red cloth spine is sunned and somewhat frayed at the head and tail, with slight wear to the joints. The rear board exhibits general toning and handling soiling. Internally, the binding is secure, though just starting at the front inner hinge. The text block edges and internal pages are heavily tanned, a standard inevitable consequence of the acidic paper stock utilised during the period of post-war paper rationing, yet the pages remain clean, unmarked, and free from significant tearing, save for a negligible nick to the lower margin of the preliminary contents page. A highly respectable, complete copy of an increasingly fragile title.
