Condition Report: Very Good. The vibrant yellow wraps remain notably bright, presenting very well despite mild edge-wear and light rubbing to the extremities typical with normal reading use. The spine remains structurally sound and square, displaying only faint vertical reading creases. Internally, the glued binding is tight and secure. The text block exhibits the uniform age-toning typical of mass-market paperbacks from this period, yet the pages remain supple and entirely free from foxing, moisture damage, or significant blemishes. A handsome, well-preserved copy of a fragile vintage production.

Catalogue Note: This is a scarce vintage British paperback edition of W. R. Burnett's classic hardboiled crime novel, High Sierra, issued under the Flamingo Books imprint. Originally published in 1940 and famously adapted into the iconic 1941 film noir starring Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino, Burnett's narrative remains a cornerstone of mid-century American crime fiction.

Produced as a cheap, mass-market reading copy during the early 1970s (as evidenced by the combination of an SBN and decimal currency pricing on the rear cover), Flamingo paperbacks of this era are rarely found in such well-preserved condition. Their highly acidic paper and rudimentary glued bindings were not designed for longevity, making surviving copies, particularly those retaining such bright, unmarked cover art, increasingly uncommon on the open market.
