Condition Report Very Good. The original green cloth binding remains structurally firm and square, presenting well despite minor shelf-wear. There is slight rubbing and bumping to the spine ends and corners, alongside a faint circular sticker ghost to the upper right corner of the front board. The gilt lettering to the spine and front board remains bright and unoxidised. The text block edges are toned, as is standard for post-war paper stock. Internally, the hinges are tight, and the pages remain clean and supple, save for a neat ownership signature in blue ink ("J. Heath") to the front endpaper. A highly presentable example, though lacking the dust wrapper.

Catalogue Note This is a first edition, first printing of Just William's Luck. Uniquely within Richmal Crompton’s beloved series, this is the twenty-sixth book and the only full-length novel, as Crompton based the work on the 1947 film adaptation rather than compiling her usual short stories. The volume is charmingly illustrated throughout with line drawings by Thomas Henry, whose depictions of William Brown remain synonymous with the character.

Examples in the original cloth are uncommon in such sound structural condition, making this a solid addition for a collector focused on series completion.

William Brown and his band of Outlaws return for an extended adventure in Just William's Luck. Inspired by the 1947 film of the same name, Crompton expanded the on-screen mischief into her only full-length novel. The story follows the boys' comical attempts to get their older brothers married off in a scheme to pilfer the ensuing wedding presents. Naturally, their plans rapidly unravel into chaos, leading to a serendipitous run-in with a gang of fur smugglers, dramatic chases, and a classic, triumphant William-style resolution.
