Condition Report Very Good. The burgundy paper-covered boards remain remarkably bright and attractive, with the gilt titling and cover illustration preserving their original lustre. There is minor rubbing to the extremities, particularly at the corner tips and along the bottom edge, alongside slight bumping to the spine ends. The binding remains firm and completely intact. Internally, the pages are clean and flat with only faint, occasional age-toning. A neat contemporary ownership signature in ink sits to the front endpaper, but the text block is otherwise entirely free from the grubby fingermarks and heavy creasing commonly associated with children’s volumes of this era.
