Condition Report: Very Good. The half-leather binding over marbled boards remains sound and attractive, showing only minor rubbing to the extremities and slight scuffing to the corners. The spine, complete with five raised bands and gilt lettering, is well-preserved with no cracking to the joints. Internally, the text block is remarkably clean, avoiding the heavy foxing or dampstaining often seen in works of this period. The fine folding frontispiece is intact and folds neatly without significant creasing or tears. Both hinges are tight and secure, making this a highly presentable and sturdy copy.

Catalogue Note: First edition of this popular and enduring collection of comedic and satirical songs. The work is particularly notable for retaining its fine folding frontispiece, depicting a raucous societal scene at 'The Assembly'.

Provenance includes a neat 20th-century ownership signature of Stanley Smith in blue ink to the front endpaper, alongside an attractive, earlier armorial-style bookplate bearing a monogram and an avian crest.

This is a scarce survival in such sound, un-messed-with condition, as these convivial Georgian songbooks were typically read to pieces in taverns and coffee houses.
