Condition Report: Near Fine; Very Good slipcase. The quarter red leather binding remains exceedingly bright and tight, with no discernible fading to the gilt-lettered spine and sharp, unbumped corners. The pictorial cloth boards, featuring an intricate arched design by Jane Lydbury, are clean and vibrant, showing no signs of shelf-wear or rubbing. Internally, the text block is pristine; the Caxton Wove paper is remarkably fresh, entirely free from foxing, blemishes, or age-toning, and the binding is wonderfully tight, suggesting the book is largely unread. The accompanying red slipcase is structurally sound but bears a few faint, superficial scuff marks and minor shelf-wear to the panels.
