The blind-stamped borders and gilt spine lettering remain distinct, though the green cloth exhibits some patchy fading, minor scuffing, and a small blemish to the front board of the first volume. Internally, the text blocks are sound and the bindings remain reasonably tight; however, the set suffers from heavy foxing and age-toning, which is particularly pronounced on the preliminary leaves, title pages, and early chapters. The decorative floral endpapers are well-preserved, bearing a small, contemporary stationer's ticket to the front pastedown of the second volume and faint previous ownership initials, with the untrimmed page edges showing expected age-related darkening.
