Condition Report: Very Good. The publisher's original maroon cloth binding remains fundamentally robust and attractive, though it exhibits expected mild shelf-wear, most notably some minor bumping and rubbing to the spine extremities and board corners. The spine has gently sun-faded to a slightly duller hue than the front and rear boards, a typical occurrence for this cloth dye, yet the gilt titling remains perfectly sharp and legible. The text block is tight and square, featuring traditional untrimmed, deckled page edges that show natural age-toning and slight dust-darkening. Internally, the pages are largely crisp and clean, with only occasional scattered spotting, most prominent on the endpapers and as faint offsetting to the title page from the frontispiece. The hinges are sound and secure, making this a highly presentable and structurally tight copy.
