Internally, the front hinge is visibly cracked, exposing the underlying webbing, and there is a browned paper repair or pasted slip to the front free endpaper. A previous owner's ink inscription rests on the front endpaper. The text block itself remains relatively firm, with dulled gilt edges; the engraved frontispiece and title page show moderate foxing and age-toning, while the subsequent printed leaves remain generally clean with only occasional handling marks.
