Condition Report: Very Good. The original pale blue cloth boards remain clean and bright, with only slight rubbing to the spine ends. The binding is firm and square, with no lean. Internally, the pages are generally crisp, though some expected light toning and minor foxing are present along the text block edges. The original, unclipped dust wrapper, retaining its 8/6 net price on the rear flap, is remarkably bright on the front panel and spine, displaying the classic 'Thompson' artwork to great effect. However, the jacket does show some historical clear tape residue and slight ghosting to the reverse side of the wrapper and inner flaps, alongside minor edge-wear and slight fraying at the spine tips.

Catalogue Note: First UK edition, first printing, confirming the "August 1942" and "Book Production War Economy Standard" statements on the copyright page. The dust wrapper features the iconic 'Thompson' illustration and retains its original pricing on the rear flap fold.
