Condition Report: Very Good. The original dark green cloth binding is tight and structurally sound. The gilt lettering to the spine remains legible, though slightly dulled with time. The boards are clean overall, showing only minimal shelf-wear, slight bumping to the corners, and a very minor indentation to the lower edge of the rear board. Internally, the hinges are perfectly secure. The text block edges exhibit moderate age-toning and some typical foxing, primarily visible along the top edge. The interior pages remain largely bright, clean, and entirely readable, with only occasional scattered spotting restricted to the preliminary leaves.

Catalogue Note: A true first edition, complete with the frontispiece portrait of William Wordsworth. The front endpaper bears a neat, contemporaneous ink ownership signature dated 6 April 1889.

This title remains an uncommon find on the open market, particularly as it is entirely free from modern ex-library stamps or institutional markings that frequently plague academic volumes of this era. It is highly presentable in its original, unsophisticated cloth binding.
